Police are looking for the assailant who opened fire on a 37-year-old woman, killing her Friday morning in Englewood.
It happened about 7:30 a.m. in the 6700 block of South Peoria Avenue, according to police, who said that she was walking outside when someone shot her once in her chest and back.
The unidentified woman was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, according to police.
Area 1 detectives are investigating.
