A woman was found dead inside a home that caught fire early Saturday morning in the Washington Park neighborhood.
Firefighters responded to a call of a fire at a home in the 5300 block of South Calumet Avenue around 5 a.m., Chicago police said.
After putting out the blaze, firefighters found a woman inside the building. She was pronounced dead, police said.
Police said a death investigation is being conducted.
The cause of the fire wasn’t immediately known.
