Police are looking for the driver of a vehicle that hit and killed a pedestrian in south suburban Lynwood early Monday.
Just after midnight, the woman was in the southbound lanes of Illinois 394 at Joe Orr Road in Lynwood when she was struck by a vehicle that didn’t stop, Illinois state police said.
The woman was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead, state police said. Her name has not been released.
The roadway was shut down for an investigation and reopened just before 4 a.m., officials said.
