A 32-year-old woman shot last month in Brighton Park in what an alderperson described as a being sparked by road rage has died Thursday morning, police say.
The unidentified woman was pronounced dead at 5:17 a.m., police said in a statement.
She was a passenger in a vehicle in the 2400 block of West 47th Street about 9:30 a.m. Oct. 22, when a gray car pulled up beside her and someone shot her in her head, police said.
After the shooting, the gray car sped away south on Western Avenue and the woman was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, initially in critical condition.
The woman’s husband and two of their three children were also in the car, 15th Ward Ald. Raymond Lopez told the Chicago Sun-Times at the time.
Her husband had been working with police to identify public and private surveillance cameras in the area that might have captured the incident, said Lopez at the time, who added that he believes road rage sparked the shooting.
No one else was hurt.
Area 1 detectives are investigating.
