WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda is in hospice care, according to his friends and family.
“It breaks my heart to share that my friend Mike Rotunda has been placed under hospice care,” former WWE wrestler Leilani Kai wrote on social media Tuesday morning, along with a photo of the two hugging earlier this year.
“Please keep Mike and the Rotunda family in your prayers. We love you, Mike,” she said.
Barry Windham, Rotunda’s brother-in-law and former WWE tag team partner, spoke about his condition over the weekend at a convention in Florida.
“Itâs kind of tough… Mike is in hospice right now,” he said in an interview with wrestling journalist Bill Apter. “So, anyway, that family â I love that family. But, itâs so tragic.”
Neither Kai nor Windham offered additional information about what led to Rotunda entering hospice care, but said the situation is especially sad given the loss the family has already suffered.
In 2023, Rotunda’s son, Windham Rotunda, who wrestled as Bray Wyatt, died from a heart attack at the age of 36. Another son, Taylor Rotunda, wrestles in the WWE as Bo Dallas and his alter ego Uncle Howdy.
During his decades in pro wrestling, Rotunda was known for tag team partnerships such as U.S. Express with Windham and in Money Inc. as Irwin R. Schyster (aka IRS) with Ted “The Million Dollar Man” DiBiase. He also wrestled as Michael Wallstreet.
Rotunda was also part of the NWO stable in WCW, and wrestled for promotions like NJPW and NWA.
Alongside Windham, Rotunda was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2024.
