Arsenal agree personal terms with £70m star as club confirm first summer signing

Bruno Guimaraes has agreed a five-year deal with Arsenal having told Newcastle United he wishes to complete a summer move to north London.
The Brazil international has emerged as Mikel Arteta’s top midfield target as the Gunners boss seeks to make further improvements to the team that ended its 22-year wait for a Premier League title last season.
ESPN Brasil report Arsenal are prepared to make a bid of £65million for the former Lyon star with Newcastle demanding at least £70m before they do any business.

His former side Lyon are also set to profit from the deal thanks to a 20 per cent sell-on clause included in the deal that took him to Tyneside in January 2022 for £40million.
His arrival will be the first major piece of business at the Emirates but work is already underway strengthening the squad for next season.
