Arsenal are still dealing with a number of injury concerns as they prepare for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Brentford.

Mikel Arteta’s produced arguably their best performance of the season in midweek as they thumped Real Madrid 3-0 at the Emirates to take control of their Champions League quarter-final tie.

The Gunners face the trip to Spain for the second leg next week but first return to league action with a tricky test against Thomas Frank’s side.

Declan Rice was the star of the show against Real on Tuesday, but there was some concern when the midfielder made way late on in the game.

Bukayo Saka was also withdrawn in the second half having made his first start since December, but Arteta seemed confident that both will shake off their respective niggles in time for the weekend.

‘Declan had an issue with his foot, I don’t know if it was a tackle,’ Arteta said after the match.

‘With Bukayo, after he got tackled, he got a knock and he had to go… It doesn’t look serious.’

While both players are likely to be fit for selection, Arteta may decide to take no risks as he looks to keep his best players fresh for the second leg in Spain.

With rotation in mind, Ben White could return to the starting XI, but Saturday’s match may come too soon for Riccardo Calafiori who is working his way back from his latest injury.

Gabriel, Kai Havertz, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Gabriel Jesus remain sidelined with long-term injuries.

Brentford, meanwhile, are still without Fabio Carvalho and Josh Dasilva, with Igor Thiago, Aaron Hickey and Gustavo Nunes all closing in on a return to first-team action.
