Arsenal get their Premier League season underway tonight against Coventry City missing half their first-choice defence.

The champions take on the newly-promoted Sky Blues at the Emirates tonight as they look to begin the defence of their crown with a win.

Mikel Arteta has made two additions to his squad this summer with Bruno Guimaraes and Christos Tzolis joining the ranks from Newcastle United and Club Brugge respectively.

Guimaraes started in the Community Shield victory over Manchester City on Sunday but was replaced at half-time, later seen wearing an icepack on his leg. While it would appear to be minor issue, Arteta revealed in his press conference on Friday his midfielder will be assessed ahead of kick-off.

Tzolis, who got two assists in the 3-0 win over City, will be hopeful of keeping his place in the side.

Arsenal have an otherwise clean bill of health.
