And they will fancy their chances after securing a 2-2 draw in the first leg of their quarter-final at the Emirates last week.

Arsenal are going up against a Bayern side who saw their 11-year stranglehold on the Bundesliga title end on Sunday.

Boss Thomas Tuchel has already confirmed he will be leaving the Allianz Arena this summer.

While there is extra motivation for Mikel Arteta’s men after slipping up in the Premier League title race against Aston Villa.

Whatever the result, it is sure to be a tight game with Bayern still boasting superstars like Harry Kane and Joshua Kimmich.

But former Arsenal boss Wenger has backed his old side to “glide” through to the semis in a strange prediction.

Speaking just hours ahead of kick-off, the Frenchman initially conceded the game was “50-50.”

Yet he still tipped Arsenal to eventually “glide” their way to victory in Bavaria.

Wenger told beIN Sports: “Arsenal against Bayern Munich is a 50-50 game.

“Bayern have recently been vulnerable at home in the Bundesliga, they lost to Dortmund in a very important game so they will not be 100% confident.

“I still think Arsenal might just glide through against Bayern.

“(A head or heart prediction) A bit of both, a combination!”

Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta urged his players not to waste their chance at reaching the Champions League semis.

He declared: “A performance to put us in the Champions League semi-final. All the preparation has been to achieve that.

“Everything we have done for 10 months, and last season to start that journey after so many years and, tomorrow we have an opportunity to make it happen.”

Gunners winger Leandro Trossard added: “Everyone is ready, we can use this game as a reaction. It’s a big opportunity for us and it’s on the biggest stage.

“Everyone wants to show what we’re capable of and there’s no better way to do it than on Wednesday.”
