Awkward moment Laura Woods is told she is ‘BATTERING’ her own TNT Sports pundits live on TV

LAURA WOODS was awkwardly told she was “BATTERING” her own TNT Sports pundits due to their poor records at Real Madrid.

Woods was working from the Spanish capital ahead of the newly-crowned LaLiga champions’ semi-final against Bayern Munich.

She was joined by ex-Manchester United captain Rio Ferdinand and former Madrid midfielder Steve McManaman at the Bernabeu.

And former Old Trafford team-mates Paul Scholes and Owen Hargreaves were in the studio with Reshmin Chowdhury.

Woods brought up the horrible record Ferdinand, Scholes and Hargreaves have at Madrid’s home.

She said: “What I was just about to say is, collectively about the Bernabeu, how special it is and how difficult it is to come here.

“The pundits back in the studio and including Rio, you’ve all come here and you’ve never won.

“So in the times that you’ve come here, eight times, you’ve all lost six times collectively. Just goes to show.”

Ferdinand first played at the Bernabeu in 2001 for Leeds, losing a 3-2 thriller.

Meanwhile, Hargreaves also played against the Spaniards in Bayern Munich colours in 2002.

Woods’ reminder did not go unoticed by Chowdhury in the studio.

She said: “Laura I feel like we’re just battering our pundits today just highlighting how they’ve never beaten Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.”

The TNT squad watched in awe as Madrid came from one behind to steal the tie in the dying embers.

A double from super-sub Joselu ended the game 2-1 and 4-3 overall with Madrid progressing to the June 1 final at Wembley against Bourssia Dortmund.

Joselu was the hero in Madrid as he scored both goals in a 2-1 win
