At least one Chicago Bear is not happy with the NFL snubbing a teammate for a weekly award.
Earlier this week, the NFL announced the offensive, defensive and special teams players of Week 4 in the NFC:
Blackwell was named special teams player of the week after his game-winning blocked field goal â his second time earning the honor in just five games.
Jaquan Brisker Says Teammate Was ‘Robbed’
But Bears safety Jaquan Brisker is not satisfied with just one teammate being recognized.
The fact it should be two Bears players on here… KB got robbed ! G check out his stats,” Brisker posted on X. Brisker takes exception with Mitchell winning the award over fellow safety Kevin Byard.
The stats highlighted in the NFL’s X post are Mitchell’s five tackles and five pass defenses, but Byard had two interceptions and seven tackles in the Bears 25-24 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.
Another X user replied to Brisker saying, “(They) really took 5 tackles over 2 INT’s Quanny I’m sick.”
Brisker responded, “Too good to be true. Sheesh.”
Byard and Mitchell Had Great Performances
Blackwell called the block âan out-of-body experience.â He approached almost unchallenged from the left side, leapt, and deflected the ball. Then he sprinted down the field in celebration, with teammates running after him.
