The Cincinnati Bengals took the red-hot New England Patriots to the limit during their Week 12 matchup at Paycor Stadium, with Joe Flacco and company falling short in the end, 26-20.
Along with the Bengals losing their fourth straight game, there is concern about star wide receiver Tee Higgins‘ status moving forward due to a concussion he sustained during the loss to the Patriots on Sunday.
Tee Higgins Won’t Play Thanksgiving Against Ravens

As expected, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor has ruled out Higgins, along with defensive end Trey Hendrickson, for the divisional showdown with the Ravens on Thanksgiving Day, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
It was a stretch, to say the least, that Higgins would be able to play on Thursday due to being in concussion protocol, especially considering he had to be carted to the locker room. The star wideout went down hard when trying to catch a pass while being smothered by Patriots cornerback Carlton Davis III.
Even though Higgins won’t be on the field to take on the division rival Ravens, superstar wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase will be back on the gridiron after serving a one-game suspension for spitting on Pittsburgh Steelers safety Jalen Ramsey.
The real question now is whether the Bengals will finally get superstar quarterback Joe Burrow back under center to face Baltimore on the road at M&T Bank Stadium.
Bengals QB Joe Burrow Expected to Play on Thanksgiving

Burrow hasn’t taken a snap since Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars when he went down with the toe injury that required surgery and resulted in him missing the majority of the regular season, leading to Jake Browning and Flacco shouldering the load under center.
Fortunately for the Bengals, it appears that Burrow is finally ready to make his return to the field, as Taylor anticipates having his leader back under center for Thursday’s matchup with the Ravens, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Obviously, this is excellent news for Cincinnati, as it definitely changes the complexion of the Week 13 showdown in Baltimore. Burrow gives his squad a better chance of pulling off the upset against the red-hot Ravens as long as he’s healthy and back to form as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.
The primary concern moving forward for the Bengals will be Burrow’s health for next season and beyond, as this season appears to be a lost cause in terms of competing for a playoff spot in the AFC, with the team currently sporting a 3-8 record after 11 games.
However, it’s likely tough to tell Burrow to continue to sit and watch from the sideline while being healthy enough to play. The 28-year-old gunslinger is as competitive as they come at the quarterback position, and if he can play, he’s going to make sure he’s on the field to lead his squad, even if clinching a spot in the NFL playoffs is a stretch, which it appears to be in the final stretch of the 2025 campaign.
