Real Betis are set to make an offer to sign Manchester United misfit Antony on loan again next season with his agents in Seville hoping to finalise a deal.

The Brazil international joined the La Liga side in January after being deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford by Ruben Amorim.

Antony had an instant impact in Spain, scoring twice in his first three La Liga appearances, also playing a vital role in firing Betis to the Europa Conference League final where they lost to Chelsea.

The winger finished the season with nine goals and five assists in 25 games and has made it clear he would jump at the chance to return to the club this summer.

United are prepared to let him go but are looking for some return on the player they spent £85million on in 2022. While recouping even half at that fee is a tall order, the Premier League side are favouring a permanent sale this summer.

Betis have been in contact with United and Antony’s representatives since the end of the 2024-25 season but talks will accelerate in the coming days Diario de Sevilla report.

Crstiano Torelli, a lawyer for the agency representing Antony, his agent Junior Pedroso and the winger’s brother Emerson Santos, who also serves as his manager, have travelled to Seville to try and reach a breakthrough this week.

A meeting between United and Betis officials has also been planned in an attempt to resolve his future as quickly as possible.

United are thought to value Antony at between £35million and £40million, a price tag that would place him out of the reach of Betis. The Spanish side are hoping to agree a another loan deal that includes an option to buy at the end of next season.

With United desperate to raise funds, that may not be good enough with interest in Antony emerging elsewhere. Juventus and Bayer Leverkusen are both in a better position to meet United’s financial demands with Erik ten Hag now in charge of the German side.

Leverkusen are also expected to bank a major windfall in the coming weeks with Florian Wirtz expected to complete a move to Liverpool for £120million.

Antony’s future uncertain

Betis are eager to make Antony’s loan spell permanent, but the Brazilian was coy when asked about his future following Wednesday’s Conference League defeat.

‘I don’t what will happen in the future, only God knows,’ he told CBS Sports.

‘My work is playing and I’m doing that well. I have a lot of affection for Betis, for everyone but I have a contract with Man United and I don’t know what’s going to happen, only they know what’s happening.

‘Now I will go to the national team and then on holiday then we will see what happens in the future.’
