The Buffalo Bills are coming off their most embarrassing loss in recent memory, getting boat-raced by the 3-7 Miami Dolphins last week.
The 30-13 beatdown erased any momentum the team gained from its two-game win streak coming out of the bye week.
It also placed more pressure on offensive coordinator Joe Brady, who was already under fire for Buffaloâs offensive struggles in back-to-back losses to the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons in Weeks 5 and 6.
The Bills have the No. 2 offense (384.4 yards per game) and No. 6 scoring offense (27.6 points per game) in the NFL.
But a lot of the teamâs flaws on that side of the ball have been masked by reigning MVP quarterback Josh Allen and the impressive running of James Cook.
The 26-year-old running back is second in the NFL in rushing (920 yards) to only Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor (1,139 yards), and heâs tied with Allen for the fifth-most rushing touchdowns as well (7).
However, the rest of Buffaloâs skill players leave much to be desired.
Bills Send Clear Message to Keon Coleman
Buffalo was reportedly aggressively pursuing a deal for a wide receiver before the NFLâs Nov. 4 trade deadline, and despite inquiring about Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle, New Orleans Saints WR Chris Olave, and Las Vegas Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers, the team came up empty-handed.
The Bills had hoped second-year wideout Keon Coleman would take a big step in his development this year, and after an 8-catch, 112-yard, 1-TD performance in Week 1, it looked like thatâs what was happening.
But in the eight games since, Coleman has a disappointing 24 receptions, 218 yards and 2 TDs. Coleman caught just 3 of his 8 targets last week against the Dolphins, seemingly prompting the coaching staff to put him on notice this week.
âAccording to a source, WR Keon Coleman will be a healthy scratch against the Bucs. A big shakeup in the Bills WR rotation,â Cover 1 reported on Saturday.
Aside from Week 1, Coleman hasnât had more than 4 catches or 46 yards in a game since. Buffalo used the 33rd overall pick on Coleman in the 2024 draft, and 22 games into his career, heâs failed to meet expectations.
Buffaloâs WR Depth Among the NFLâs Worst

GettyBuffalo Bills WR Khalil Shakir leads the team in receptions and receiving yards
Aside from Coleman, Khalil Shakir is the only other receiver on the team with more than 15 catches or 20 targets.
Shakir has filled the Billsâ No. 1 receiver role for the last season-and-a-half, though his production is more on par with a solid No. 2. Through nine games this season, Shakir has totaled 45 catches on 58 targets for 457 yards, and 3 touchdowns.
But heâs far from the teamâs top pass-catcher. That title belongs to former first-round tight end Dalton Kincaid, who leads the team with 4 touchdowns and ranks second in receiving yards (448).
The rest of the teamâs WRs â Joshua Palmer, Elijah Moore, Tyrell Shavers, and Curtis Samuel â have been uninspiring.
The foursome have combined for 34 receptions on 52 targets, 493 yards and 1 touchdown. The Billsâ receiver corps ranks 16th in touchdowns (15) and 20th in catches (188), and most of those numbers are from Shakir and Coleman.
