The British Open gets underway on Monday, with the World Snooker Tour returning to the UK after an eventful trip to China.
The Shanghai Masters, China Open and Wuhan Open have all been played over the last few weeks, with Judd Trump, Mark Selby and Chang Bingyu emerging as the respective champions.
Chang won his first ranking title by beating Zhao Xintong in the Wuhan final on Saturday and both are quickly pressed back in action, playing their openers in Cheltenham on Tuesday.
Zhao may have lost the final at the weekend but his run saw him climb to the top of the world rankings, usurping Judd Trump to become just the 13th world number one in snooker history.
All three winners from the China swing are in action this week as part of a high quality field which is only missing a couple of big names as both Ronnie O’Sullivan and Mark Allen have withdrawn.
Shaun Murphy is defending champion after he beat Anthony McGill in last year’s final, coming through a seriously tough run to lift the trophy.

The Magician beat the likes of Neil Robertson, Judd Trump and Mark Selby on his way to the title, with the FA Cup-style draw of the British Open not being particularly kind to him.

The event gets underway on Monday afternoon with the final played over two sessions on Sunday September 6.
