Broncos Rookie Trolls Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift With Viral Post

Denver’s eighth straight win over a quality opponent was already headline-worthy. But after the Broncos edged the Kansas City Chiefs 22-19 in Week 11, it was first-round rookie Jahdae Barron who set the internet on fire with a post aimed straight at Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift.

Barron shared an Instagram Story showing a photo of himself in coverage on Kelce, then added the caption, “Tell Swift put me on a song RIGHT NOW,” according to multiple outlets that captured screenshots before the Story disappeared.

The Broncos’ rookie cornerback deleted the post less than a day later, but by then the damage — or the branding, depending on your perspective — was done. Swift fans, Chiefs supporters and casual NFL fans had already blasted the image and caption across social media.

Broncos’ Jahdae Barron Takes His Shot at Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce

Barron, the No. 20 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft, has been tasked with covering tight ends during his rookie season and finished Denver’s win over Kansas City with two tackles.

Kelce still put up numbers — nine catches for 91 yards and a touchdown, breaking the Chiefs’ franchise record with his 84th career score — but the day belonged to Denver on the scoreboard. Wil Lutz drilled a walk-off field goal to push the Broncos to 9-2 and drop the Chiefs to 5-5.

That’s the moment Barron chose to fire off his Taylor Swift “feature request.” His Story showed him leaping to defend Kelce as the tight end lost his footing, paired with the “put me on a song” demand that Swift’s fans quickly seized on.

The reaction was swift. Screenshots of Barron’s post circulated widely as fans accused him of chasing “15 minutes of fame” and warned him not to poke at Swift’s fanbase.

According to multiple reports, Barron later tried to clarify that he’s working on music and hoped the viral moment might help people find his art, even saying he “just want[s] some help” getting noticed.

Meanwhile, Kelce and Swift remain one of the NFL’s biggest off-field storylines, with the pair engaged and Swift using Kelce as a muse on her recent “The Life of a Showgirl” album, making Barron’s “put me on a song” line even more pointed.

What It Means for the Broncos, Chiefs & the Rivalry

On the field, this is another sign of how quickly the Broncos have flipped the AFC West script. Denver sits at 9-2 with eight straight wins and a firm grip on the division, while the defending champion Chiefs are suddenly fighting to stay in the playoff picture at 5-5.

For Denver, Barron’s viral moment reinforces the swagger that’s defined the Broncos’ midseason surge. The rookie already owns 21 tackles, three passes defended and an interception this year, and now he’s becoming known beyond film rooms and AFC West diehards.

For Kansas City, the optics are rough. Kelce set a historic franchise record in the loss, but the postgame conversation turned to a rookie cornerback putting him and his fiancee in an Instagram caption — and to Chiefs fans worrying more about the standings than social media jokes.

This kind of trolling is only going to add fuel to the Broncos-Chiefs rivalry, especially with a Christmas rematch still looming on the schedule.
