The Cleveland Browns suffered a 26-8 loss to the San Francisco 49ers at home on Sunday.
Cleveland was dominated in all three phases of the game, as it was a lackluster performance from the Browns. With the loss, Cleveland guaranteed another losing season, and now Browns insider Tony Rizzo believes head coach Kevin Stefanski will be fired at the end of the season.
“I hope the Browns coaches sealed their fate yesterday,” Rizzo said on ESPN Cleveland on Monday. “It’s 10-8 in the third quarter, 4th and 1, your own 33, you are going to go for it and have your tight end (direct snap it) and fumbles.
“Get out of here. Folks, I’m going to tell you something right now: I know owners of sports teams who would have fired these people on the spot yesterday. Enough, enough of this. You have to be out of your mind to watch this garbage, the Browns are garbage.”
Stefanski is in his sixth season as the Browns’ head coach. He’s led the team to the playoffs twice, but has a record of 43-53 as their head coach. With that, Rizzo expects him to be fired at the end of the season, if he makes it that far.
“How in the hell does Stefanski have a job?,” Rizzo said. “Last two seasons, he’s 6-23. Oh my God. 23 Mondays that I have to come in here and kiss ass. I’m done with everybody. Get out, everybody. I wish we could fire the owner.”
It’s clear the Browns insider has had enough and fully expects Stefanski to be fired after another brutal season for Cleveland.
Stefanski Explains Controversial TE Sneak
The one play many Browns fans were mad at was Harold Fannin Jr. getting a direct snap on 4th and 1.
Cleveland had been using Quinshon Judkins out of the Wildcat, but went with rookie tight end Harold Fannin Jr. in that spot. Fannin fumbled, and the 49ers recovered.
Although it was a controversial call, Stefansi said that it was a play call he liked.
“Well, it was fourth and inside of one, I think, so it was inches,” Stefanski said postgame on Sunday. ‘So as you guys know, quarterback sneaks, the most effective play in that situation, we did not execute. That’s on me. We’ll get it fixed.”
The loss also guaranteed the Browns will have a losing season, which is frustrating for Stefanski.
“All of it, losing is always disappointing,” Stefanski said. “It’s frustrating and for your players that work so hard and put so much into this, you want to be able to put them in positions to succeed. And obviously we didn’t do that today.”
Cleveland will host the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
Browns Fans Call for Stefanski to be Fired
After another blowout loss to San Francisco on Sunday, Browns fans called for Stefanski to be fired.
“Stefanski needs to be fired for coaching malpractice,” a fan wrote.
“Kevin Stefanski is the issue in Cleveland. He does NOTHING about Ventrone, much like he would have never fired Woods if not forced. The offense is not only a joke, it never gets better. His decision making is awful. 4th down especially. He’s also an uninspiring robot. Fire him,” another fan added.
Browns fans feel fed up with Stefanski and the entire organization and are hoping for changes.
“Stefanski should’ve fired him a month ago, he should also lose his job today,” a fan wrote.
“Yea, stefanski need to be fired immediately,” another fan added.
Cleveland will remain with Shedeur Sanders at QB on Sunday against the Titans.
