Browns Insider Makes Feelings Clear on Jerry Jeudy After Voicing Frustration

The Cleveland Browns will have another new starting quarterback in Week 12.

Cleveland will start Shedeur Sanders on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders due to Dillon Gabriel being in concussion protocol. Ahead of the change, Jerry Jeudy voiced his frustration with the change and said it’s important to get on track with Sanders.

“It’s going to be very important,” Jeudy said. … “You just need reps.”

When asked what he’s seen from Sanders, he said the rookie is growing. All the answers were short, and after his press conference, Browns insider Ken Carman ripped Jeudy for his comments.

“I don’t think it’s good for Shedeur,” Carman said on 92.3 The Fan. “I don’t think it’s positive energy. He needs positive energy, he needs his teammates with him. To me, this is an ill-timed time to be upset. This is not a good press conference to have, as we are getting ready for a game. Frankly, I don’t think they are set up for success.

“He’s the No. 1 wide receiver, and he’s having himself a bit of a moment. I can understand in so many ways, it’s just this is not good timing for it. This is very, very, very bad timing.”

Carman makes a fair point, as Jeudy’s comments weren’t needed the week that Sanders is making his first NFL start.

Jeudy is coming off a game where he recorded three receptions for 21 yards, as it was another lackluster game from the Browns’ No. 1 receiver.

Shedeur Sanders Puts Dillon Gabriel on Notice

Sanders will make his first NFL start on Sunday as Gabriel is out with a concussion.

Ahead of his first NFL start, Sanders seemingly put Gabriel on notice as he said he feels like the guy and plans to prove that.

“I know our fans have a lot of expectations and hope, and I would be doing a disservice to myself and disservice to the organization if I didn’t feel like I am the guy,” Sanders said on Wednesday. “I did everything I need to. I’m doing everything I need to prepare to be the best version of myself as possible.

“With the circumstances, everything got me sped up, and that’s great. I like pressure in life. I’m just excited for everything. So, I feel like I’m the guy, I know I’m the guy, but you just have to be able to see. The game got to speak.”

Sanders struggled in relief last week as he went 4-of-16 for 47 yards and an interception.

Browns Coach Wants Sanders to Trust His Receivers

Ahead of Sanders’ first NFL start, Browns coach Kevin Stefanski wants the rookie to trust his receivers.

Stefanski said Sanders is already gaining confidence with his receivers, and he expects that to translate to the game.

“I think for sure you constantly are talking about your players, and the skill sets that your players have. That’s a big part of it,” Stefanski said.

“Then it’s also part of trusting the schemes, and that goes for the quarterback, for the receivers, for everybody – trusting that you know your guy’s going to be where he’s supposed to be on the prescribed time, and that gives you a ton of comfort, confidence to let it rip.”

Cleveland is a 3.5-point underdog against the Raiders.
