For much of the 2025 campaign, the Indianapolis Colts have appeared to be running away with the AFC South division. Heading into Week 13, though, their grip on the top spot in the division appears to be loosening. The Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans are breathing down their necks, and injury issues are beginning to pile up.
As if the team didn’t have enough to worry about heading into this one, star rookie tight end Tyler Warren was a late addition to the team’s injury report on Saturday, as he’s reportedly battling a stomach virus. With kickoff quickly approaching, the Colts have received a major update on Warren’s status for the team’s important divisional clash with the Texans.
Tyler Warren Expected to Suit Up for Colts in Week 13
The past week hasn’t exactly been good for Indianapolis. After suffering an overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, the team was dealt a concerning update regarding quarterback Daniel Jones’ health, as he is reportedly dealing with a fracture in his fibula. While the injury isn’t expected to hold him off the field for the time being (he has no injury designation ahead of Week 13), it figures to have an impact on him moving forward.
Then, on Saturday, Indy had another problem to deal with involving Warren. The No. 14 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Warren has put together a standout rookie campaign for the Colts, as he’s caught 55 passes for 662 yards and four total touchdowns through the first 11 games of his career.
Being without Warren for a very important contest against the Texans would obviously not be ideal, and his late addition to the injury report was a concerning development for the Colts. According to a recent report, though, it sounds like Warren is going to try to play through a stomach virus that he recently came down with.
“I’m told Warren is battling a stomach issue,” Tom Pelissero said on “NFL GameDay.” “They’ll reevaluate him this morning. Nothing firm yet, but cautious optimism the rookie sensation will go in a huge game against the Texans.”

Having Warren on the field could make a huge difference for the Colts, as the Texans’ defense is one of the best units in the league. And while he may not be at 100%, just the threat of him ripping off a big play is enough to keep Houston wary of him, as he has shown what he is capable of time and again this season.
Given the recent success the Jags and Texans have enjoyed, this game has quickly become very important for Indianapolis. Win, and it can at least put some serious between itself and Houston. Lose, and the division will suddenly become very much up for grabs. Nothing is official yet when it comes to Warren’s status, but it’s looking increasingly likely he will be on the field when the Colts take on the Texans at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday afternoon.
