David Moyes has informed West Ham’s hierarchy that he’s willing to return to the club for a third time as manager.

The Scot left the London Stadium at the end of last season to be replaced by Julen Lopetegui.

But the Spaniard’s time in charge has been a disaster, despite the club’s £130m outlay on transfers last summer.

Should the Hammers lose against Wolves this weekend, Lopetegui will almost certainly be sacked.

The Hammers are already drawing up a list of replacements, with former Chelsea boss Graham Potter.

But if the board are looking to steady the ship then the prospect of Moyes returning must be tempting.

The former Manchester United boss has had two stints in east London.

He spent less than a year at the club before leaving in 2018, only to return a year later.

During Moyes’ second stint, he won the Europa Conference League but his style of play didn’t always please supporters.

The Sun say he’s told West Ham’s board that he would be open to returning to the club, even on a short-term deal.

The 61-year-old feels he has unfinished business at the club and was unhappy with how he was treated towards the end of his second stint.

West Ham are 14th in the table, six points clear of the relegation zone.
