Denver Nuggets Make Aaron Gordon Announcement For Game Vs. Spurs

The Denver Nuggets are set to play the San Antonio Spurs in a key game between two of the top teams in the NBA. Before the game, it was announced that Aaron Gordon would be playing on a minutes restriction on Saturday.

Gordon has missed time this season with several different injuries, and while he is set to play, it won’t be for the same amount of time as his 27.6 minutes per game average this year.

Gordon, while a key player for the Nuggets, has only appeared in 33 games this season.

Aaron Gordon Minutes Restriction

According to Brendan Vogt, Nuggets head coach David Adelman said before the game that Gordon would be playing on a minutes restriction against the Spurs.

“Aaron Gordon will be on some sort of minute restriction today, David Adelman said,” he wrote on X. “He did not give a number.”

Fans on social media speculated that the forward could play roughly 15-18 minutes on Saturday as he continues to work back from hamstring and calf injuries that held him out for a long stretch earlier in the year.

“Bet he plays 15-18 minutes. Enough to shake off rust, not enough to risk anything,” one user wrote.

On the season, Gordon is averaging 16.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists on 49.5% shooting.

As mentioned, he has missed much of the season with several major injuries, some of which are lignering from last year. Gordon remains a key player for the Nuggets, but just like in 2025, keeping him healthy for another deep postseason run remains key for Denver.

Before the Nuggets vs. Spurs game, Denver has a few key players listed on the injury report.

Peyton Watson has been ruled out with a right hamstring strain. The wing player has had a breakout year, and in a contract season, could very well leave the Nuggets after this season in restricted free agency.

Spencer Jones is also ruled out with a hamstring injury.

Zeke Nnaji won’t play due to a hip sprain.

Tim Hardaway Jr. was listed as probable in the lead-up to the game against the Spurs with left knee soreness. However, just an hour before the game, he was upgraded to available.

“Tim Hardaway Jr. (knee) listed available to play Saturday,” Underdog NBA wrote on X.

Again, while Gordon isn’t listed on the Nuggets’ injury report before the game, he has been featured on that list heavily over the past few months.

Denver is currently 49-28 and fourth in the Western Conference standings, in a close race with the Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, and Minnesota Timberwolves for home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets have won seven in a row and have gone 8-2 in their last ten, however, they go up against Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs, a team who have been even hotter than them over the past few months.
