You can bet Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is keeping an eye on the current drama happening in Las Vegas right now with the Raiders and five-time Pro Bowl edge Maxx Crosby.
The Raiders shut their star pass rusher down with a knee injury, placing him on injured reserve and ending his season. In response, Crosby posted clips of himself playing basketball and jumping on a trampoline on his Instagram story. He has not publicly demanded a trade, but it’s become clear he’s not happy with his current team.
FOX NFL insider Jay Glazer reported on December 28 that he spoke to Crosby, and the Raiders edge was not thrilled with how Vegas has handled his injury and subsequent shutdown. Noting Crosby has been very loyal to Las Vegas in the past, “You’ve got to wonder now if that still hold true,” Glazer said.
With trade talks ramping up, BetOnline has the Eagles among the betting favorites to land Crosby.
Philadelphia Eagles Among Betting Favorites to Trade for Raiders DE Maxx Crosby

GettyThe Philadelphia Eagles are among the betting favorites to trade for Las Vegas Raiders DE Maxx Crosby.
BetOnline has the Dallas Cowboys with the best odds to trade for Crosby (+300), with the Eagles second (+400), the New England Patriots third (+500), the Los Angeles Rams fourth (+600) and the Chicago Bears fifth (+700).
If the rival Cowboys are interested — and they absolutely should be — then Roseman should be interested in one-upping Dallas to get Crosby, who is a true difference-maker.
The Eagles’ pass rush in 2025 has been serviceable, but not as dominant as it has been in years past. Philly has 42 sacks on the season, which is ranked ninth in the NFL. That’s not bad at all — but imagine adding Crosby to the mix. Jaelan Phillips is set to hit free agency, and if Philly wants to add an edge that’s even better, Crosby would be a no-brainer.
“The five-time Pro Bowler didn’t like the decision to shut him down being taken out of his hands, and didn’t like how it was communicated to him,” NFL insider Albert Breer wrote on December 29 about Crosby and his current situation, adding:
“My sense is this will likely lead Crosby to consider all of his options. He’ll be 29 by the start of next season and has a lot of mileage on his body after finishing each of the past three seasons hurt. His contract is tradeable, and the Raiders still look like they’re a couple of good offseasons away from contending.”
More on the Possibility of Crosby to Philly
Crosby is the type of player who would take the Eagles defense from good to great in an instant. Even on a struggling Raiders team, he remained one of the NFL’s most productive and reliable defenders in 2025. He finished the season with 10 sacks, 70+ tackles, two forced fumbles and 20 QB hits.
Over his seven-year career, Crosby has amassed just under 70 sacks and established himself as one of the league’s most relentless edge defenders.
Philadelphia is one of the few teams equipped to seriously explore a trade like this. Roseman and the Eagles have a history of aggressive moves, and they understand how transformative a dominant edge rusher can be. Pairing Crosby with their existing interior front would be almost unfair.
It also wouldn’t be a move that would tie the Eagles down for too long. Crosby signed a four-year, $106.5 million extension in March 2025, with $91.5 million guaranteed, keeping him under contract through 2029. After cap hits around $36 million in 2026 and $30 million in 2027, there’s an out in his contract in 2028, though, so it’s a move worth making for teams who are ready to win now. The defending champs certainly qualify. We’ll see if anything materializes next offseason.
