Following their dramatic quarter-final win against Sweden on Thursday, England are just one game away from the Euro 2025 final.

The Lionesses looked down and out after a calamitous first-half in Zurich in which Sweden took a deserved 2-0 lead.

But with time running out in the second-half, Lucy Bronze pulled a goal back and just three minutes later Michelle Agyemang equalised, sending the game to extra-time and then penalties.

The heroics of Swedish goalkeeper Jennifer Falk left England on the brink of elimination twice but the Blue-Yellow failed to deliver the final blow, with Hannah Hampton producing several great saves.

At sudden death, Bronze smashed in her spot-kick before Smilla Holmberg blazed her effort over the bar, sending England through to the semi-finals.

They’ll face Italy in the last-four for a place in next week’s final, with Sarina Wiegman’s side two wins away from back-to-back European championships.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Euro 2025 semi-final between England and Italy, including kick-off time, how to watch, team news and odds.

Latest England vs Italy team news

The 120minute plus victory over Sweden may have come at a cost for England after captain Leah Williamson was forced off with an ankle injury.

The Arsenal defender landed awkwardly and rolled her right ankle after challenging for a header and had to be subbed off during extra-time.

‘She rolled her ankle. She’ll be assessed tomorrow,’ Wiegman said post-match.

‘I don’t know what it is right now. She couldn’t stay on the pitch so we had to take her off.’

‘It wasn’t about me,’ Williamson added. ‘A game like that requires you to be at 100 per cent and nobody can put a foot wrong, so it wasn’t the time to stay on the pitch, but I don’t know.’

Bronze and Lauren James were also seen limping at the end of the match but it is not known whether they have suffered any major injury.

At the time of writing, the other Euro 2025 semi-final is yet to be determined, with the remaining quarter-finals taking place on Friday and Saturday.

The winner of Spain vs Switzerland and France vs Germany will meet on Wednesday, July 23.

World champions Spain are the favourites to progress to the final, potentially setting up a rematch of the 2023 World Cup showdown where they beat the Lionesses 1-0.

The Spanish are a formidable team having lost just one of their last 14 matches, but that sole defeat came at the hands of England at Wembley in February.

The quarter-final between Germany and France will be close and both would provide a difficult test for the Lionesses.

It was the Germans whom England famously defeated in the Euro 2022 final while France deservedly beat Wiegman’s side 2-1 in their opening game of this summer’s tournament.

The Euro 2025 final will kick-off at 5pm on Sunday, July 27.
