College basketball’s biggest weekend has arrived, and the 2026 men’s NCAA Tournament will conclude with a stacked Final Four in Indianapolis.
Michigan, Arizona, Illinois, and Connecticut have separated themselves from the rest of the field, each bringing star power and depth into the national semifinals.
Illinois and Connecticut will face off Saturday at 6:09 p.m. Eastern on TBS, followed by Michigan vs. Arizona at 8:49 p.m. Eastern at Lucas Oil Stadium. While there are no Cinderella teams left, the Final Four is loaded with talent across all four rosters.
Here are eight players to watch as the national championship race reaches its final stage.
Connecticut Final Four Players to Watch: Tarris Reed and Alex Karaban
Tarris Reed and Alex Karaban have been central to Connecticut’s run, even as freshman guard Braylon Mullins grabbed headlines with a game-winning shot in the regional final.
Reed has delivered dominant performances throughout the tournament. He opened with 31 points and 27 rebounds against Furman, followed by another double-double against UCLA. He added 20 points against Michigan State and 26 against Duke, establishing himself as one of the most productive big men in the field.
Karaban, a senior leader, has provided consistency and late-game awareness. He scored 22, 27, and 17 points in the first three rounds before making a key play late against Duke. After hitting a three-pointer to cut the deficit to one, he assisted on Mullins’ game-winner.
Michigan Basketball Stars in Final Four: Yaxel Lendeborg and Adya Mara
Yaxel Lendeborg has been one of the most dominant players in the tournament. Over Michigan’s last three games, he is averaging 25.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists while shooting 61.4 percent from the field and 52.6 percent from three-point range. He has also committed just two turnovers during that span.
Lendeborg’s two-way play has positioned Michigan as a national title favorite. His versatility on both ends of the court has been a key factor in the team’s success.
Adya Mara has anchored Michigan’s interior presence. As an elite rim protector and finisher, he has helped the team rank in the 95th percentile in field-goal percentage at the rim offensively and in the 88th percentile defensively, according to CBB Analytics. Michigan also ranks in the 99th percentile in limiting opponents’ rim attempts, largely due to Mara’s presence.
Mara’s ability to alter shots and facilitate offense from the post adds another dimension to Michigan’s lineup.
Illinois Final Four Standouts: Andrej Stojaković and Keaton Wagoner
Andrej Stojaković has been a key contributor for Illinois, averaging 13.6 points per game as the team’s second-leading scorer. At 6-foot-7, he brings size and versatility to a lineup filled with length.
Stojaković also carries a notable basketball lineage. His father, Peja Stojaković, was a three-time NBA All-Star known for his shooting during a 13-year career.
Keaton Wagoner has emerged as a major factor in Illinois’ rise to the Final Four. His scoring ability has created matchup problems, using a smooth jumper and changes of pace to create opportunities. He also excels at drawing fouls and getting to the free-throw line.
Wagoner delivered one of his best performances in the regional final, scoring 25 points on 8-of-17 shooting against Iowa. His development over the course of the season has helped elevate Illinois to championship contender status.
Arizona Final Four Leaders: Braydon Burries and Jayden Bradley
Braydon Burries has developed into one of the most polished freshmen in the country. After a slow start to the season, he has consistently produced, recording only four single-digit scoring games over his last 33 appearances.
Burries impacts the game on both ends of the floor. His combination of shot-making, finishing ability, and physicality makes him one of Arizona’s most dangerous offensive players.
Jayden Bradley has been Arizona’s most important player despite not always leading the box score. He earned Big 12 Player of the Year honors due to his two-way contributions and consistent performances.
Bradley’s on-ball defense and ability to control tempo set him apart. He uses physicality and quickness to disrupt opposing guards while also creating offense off the dribble. His pull-up shooting has been especially effective against top defenses.
