Ivan Juric left the St Mary’s hotseat after the Saints’ relegation was confirmed on April 8, with the former Roma chief having replaced Russell Martin back in December.
Now, according to talkSPORT, the club’s hierarchy have turned to a man with Manchester United on his coaching resume.
Eric Ramsay is currently manager of Minnesota United in Major League Soccer, a position he took up after leaving Old Trafford.
He was dubbed United’s “secret weapon”, thanks to his trilingual skills – fluent in French and Spanish – which helped to integrate foreign players into the first-team fold at Old Trafford.
But they were beaten 6-2 by the LA Galaxy in the Conference play-off semi-finals.
This year, Ramsay has led Minnesota to fourth in the Western Conference, on course for another play-off campaign.
