Former actor Frankie Muniz is heading back into racing with his biggest schedule yet. The 40-year-old star confirmed that he will run full-time in both the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and the SRO GT4 America series in 2026.
He shared the news in a personal statement on social media, explaining that he had briefly thought about retiring from the sport. Muniz wrote, “I thought I was done. I really did. Hung up the helmet, said ‘That’s a wrap’ on racing, then realized I’ve still got way too much unfinished business on track.”
His plan marks a major step after his first Truck Series season in 2025 and follows years of steady work to rebuild his racing career.
Frankie Muniz Confirms Full-Time NASCAR Truck Season
Frankie Muniz will return to Reaume Brothers Racing to drive the number 33 Ford F-150. The move keeps him with the same team he raced for in 2025, a season that included an 11th-place finish at Daytona International Speedway.
“Full season in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with my @TeamReaume family. Couldn’t be more pumped to be home, Muniz said.”
Reaume Brothers Racing, based in Mooresville, North Carolina, fields multiple trucks in the series and focuses on driver development. Muniz’s 2026 run will include all 23 Truck Series races. The schedule features major tracks such as Talladega, Bristol, and Martinsville. Pre-season testing for the series starts in January as teams prepare for the opening rounds.

Alongside his NASCAR plans, Frankie Muniz will also compete full-time in the SRO GT4 America series. He will co-drive a Ford Mustang GT4 with Tyler Stone for Techsport Racing. The team has a history of strong results in GT4 competition. Muniz said the pair is ready for a serious push, adding, “We’re hunting podiums, and we’re not asking nicely.”
The 2026 GT4 America season includes 15 races at well-known road courses such as Sonoma Raceway, Road America, and Circuit of the Americas. These events test car control, teamwork, and endurance across long race weekends. Ford Performance will support both of Muniz’s programs, providing the F-150 for NASCAR and the Mustang GT4 for SRO.
Sponsorship, Career Background, and Busy 2026 Schedule
Muniz’s announcement also highlighted returning partners, including ForThePeople and Aerial Titans. Frankie Muniz noted that more sponsors will be named soon and that open spaces remain for new partners. His combined NASCAR and SRO schedule totals 38 races, making it the most active year of his racing career.
Frankie Muniz began his racing career in the mid-2000s in open-wheel series like Formula BMW USA and the Atlantic Championship before taking a break due to injuries and acting work. He returned to stock car racing in 2023, competing full-time in the ARCA Menards Series, where he finished fourth in the final points standings.
This strong comeback led to a full-time move to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2025 with Reaume Brothers Racing. In his rookie Truck Series season, he recorded one top-10 finish and placed 26th in the final standings, despite missing several races due to a broken wrist.
His 2026 plans also line up with the release of the “Malcolm in the Middle” reboot, where he is expected to return to his original role. Muniz called the upcoming season “the busiest, craziest, most fun year of my life so far. I’m not just back. I’m all in. 2026, let’s gooooo.”
