Giants’ Darius Slayton Announces Engagement To Olympic Track Star

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton made a huge personal announcement on Friday by proposing to Olympic track star Anna Hall. The couple shared several engagement photos on Instagram, with the proposal taking place at the track where the two star athletes first met. The couple made their relationship official in November 2024.

Hall Is The Reigning World Heptathlon Champion

Just like Slayton, Hall is a decorated athlete, having won medals internationally throughout her career. Her most decorated event is the heptathlon, which is a track and field event that combines seven disciplines. The women’s heptathlon includes the 100-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put, 200 meters, long jump, javelin throw, and 800 meters.

Hall began her college career at Georgia before transferring to Florida for her senior year, where she won the pentathlon and heptathlon titles at the NCAA Championships. In 2023, she set the North American pentathlon indoor record with a score of 5004 points and posted a world-leading 6988 points in the heptathlon, setting personal bests in five events.

After breaking her foot during the 2021 Olympic Trials, she secured a spot in the Olympics by winning the heptathlon at the 2024 US Olympic Trials. Hall finished fifth overall in her first Olympics, but won the heptathlon at the 2025 World Athletics Championships to become the world champion in the event.

Hall captioned her post, “My whole entire heart. In the exact place we first met i got to say yes to me & you forever ❤️.”

Giants stars were quick to congratulate the couple, with Jaxson Dart, Cam Skattebo, and Russell Wilson just a few of Slayton’s teammates who commented with excitement. Hall’s USA track and field teammates and other Olympic stars also expressed their support on the post.

Slayton Has Battled Through Injuries All Season

On the field, Darius Slayton has struggled to stay healthy this year, with a hamstring injury keeping him out for Weeks 6 and 7 against the Eagles and Broncos. He led the Giants in receiving yards against the 49ers and Bears, but reaggravated his hamstring injury and had just four yards in the second half at Soldier Field.

After missing every practice this week, Slayton was unable to play against the Packers. With the Giants now 2-9, they will look to get their star receiver back into the lineup as soon as possible. New York faces their third straight NFC North opponent when it visits Ford Field to take on the Detroit Lions.

Following their visit to the Motor City, the Giants will have their bye, in which they will look to get their injured players a chance to rest, recover, and get back onto the field. The final five games for Big Blue are against the surging Patriots, a rematch with the Commanders, and games against the Vikings, Raiders, and Cowboys.

Although Isaiah Hodgins did an admirable job in his place, the Giants would benefit greatly from the services of their top wide receiver for the stretch run. Hopefully, Slayton’s engagement can help provide the fuel that he needs to get back on the field healthy and motivated.
