Giants Predicted to Land New Jaxson Dart Weapon in 2026 Mock Draft

When it comes to ensuring a young quarterback’s success, a team has to surround them with the tools to succeed.

In the New York Giants case, they’re doing a solid job of putting Jaxson Dart in a position to develop.

The offensive line is solid, headlined by former All-Pro left tackle Andrew Thomas.

His weapons are young, but trending towards stardom. Malik Nabers and Cam Skattebo, when healthy, are awesome playmakers.

But is there more the Giants can do to help Dart succeed?

The Athletic’s Dane Brugler thinks so, and that’s exactly what he predicted New York to do in April in his most recent mock draft.

Giants Select Ohio State WR Carnell Tate in 2026 Mock Draft

In Brugler’s highly respected mock draft, the New York Giants trade back from No. 2 with the Las Vegas Raiders and select Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate with the No. 4 overall pick.

“I didn’t expect Tate to be this high when I started this exercise, but it speaks to the unpredictability of this year’s top 10,” wrote Brugler.

“The Buckeyes pass catcher is impressively detailed as a route runner, especially on vertical patterns, and his length and focus make him a ball winner at the catch point. Tate would complement Malik Nabers really well and reflect the Giants’ desire to surround their young quarterback, Jaxson Dart, with more help.”

In what would be a home-run draft for the Giants, they acquire more capital to build out their team by trading down and land arguably the class’s best pass catcher.

Brugler doesn’t list the exact trade compensation in his mock, but considering New York used their 2026 third-round pick to trade up for Dart, it would be in their best interest to accumulate Day 2 picks to bolster their team further.

Adding Tate to an offense with Dart, Nabers, and Skattebo creates a number of issues for opposing defenses and stretches the field for the Giants in a way they haven’t seen in several years.

Carnell Tate’s Scouting Report

Bleacher Report’s Damian Parson pegs Tate as one of the best wide receivers available in the 2026 draft.

In a long line of successful Ohio State wideouts, including Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, and Marvin Harrison Jr., Tate is the next man up.

“Tate’s height and wingspan offer a quarterback-friendly target. He extends the catch point away from his frame and plucks the ball from the air,” wrote Parson.

“Tate is a bouncy athlete who can climb the ladder over defenders at the catch point. He has soft, reliable hands and excellent ball tracking skills.”

In nine games this season, the Buckeye has racked up 44 catches, 793 yards, and eight touchdowns as the secondary option behind Jeremiah Smith.

Parson compared the prospect to “Corey Davis with DeVonta Smith fluidity.”

“Tate is nuanced and detailed with his ability to separate from opposing defenders. He is an excellent vertical route salesman by pushing defensive backs with a strong vertical takeoff and stem, giving the illusion he is running a deep route.”

It’s safe to say Dart would be in safe hands, knowing that on any given play, one of his guys will be open.
