Golden State Warriors Make Kristaps Porzingis Announcement Before Lakers Game

On Thursday night, the Golden State Warriors will host the Los Angeles Lakers at the Chase Center in San Francisco.

The Warriors are coming off a 110-105 win over the Sacramento Kings.

Kristaps Porzingis did not play in the game.

De’Anthony Melton led the way with 21 points.

For Thursday’s game, the Warriors have announced that they will remain without Porzingis.

He has been ruled out on the injury report.

Underdog NBA wrote: “Kristaps Porzingis (illness management) listed out for Thursday.”

Porzingis has been a big contributor for the Warriors since getting traded (via the Atlanta Hawks) earlier this season.

He is averaging 16.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.1 blocks per contest while shooting 44.3% from the field and 32.8% from three-point range in 13 games for Golden State.

With their win over the Kings, the Warriors improved to 37-42 in 79 games, which has them as the 10th seed in the Western Conference.

They have won four out of their last ten games (and are 22-18 at home).

Following the Lakers, the Warriors will play their next game on Friday when they visit the Kings.

ESPN’s Anthony Slater wrote: “The Warriors are now locked into the 10th seed. They’ll need to win two road games next week to get into the playoffs and a 1 v 8 matchup with the Thunder.”

The Warriors last won a title in 2022.

They are coming off a year where they lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round of the 2025 NBA playoffs.

Lakers Ahead Of Warriors Game

The Lakers are coming off a 123-87 loss to the OKC Thunder (on Monday).

They are in the middle of a three-game losing streak (but 6-4 over their last ten).

Right now, the Lakers are the fourth seed in the Western Conference with a 50-29 record in 79 games.
