Graham Potter has turned down an offer to manage Ajax, according to reports.

The 48-year-old has been out of management since he was sacked by Chelsea just over a year ago.

Ajax dismissed Maurice Steijn in October and are looking to appoint a long-term successor for John van’t Schip, the current interim head coach.

Potter has held talks with the Eredivisie club with a view to taking over at the end of the season.

However, The Athletic reports that while Potter was ‘impressed’ with Ajax, he has rejected a move to the Dutch club.

The report claims that Potter felt managing Ajax ‘was not right for him at present’.
