Jason Kelce Doesn’t Hold Back on Raiders After Loss to Chiefs

The Las Vegas Raiders enter their bye week in rough shape after a brutal showing against the Kansas City Chiefs. Instead of stepping up and making things interesting, the Silver and Black couldn’t get anything going, suffering a 31-0 loss to the Chiefs on October 19 at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

When a team gets shut out, there are probably zero positive remarks made for that squad. As a result, the comments made by former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce shouldn’t come as a surprise.

“I mean, you know how bad you have to be to not score a single point in the NFL,” Kelce told his young brother and Chiefs star Travis Kelce on the “New Heights” podcast published on October 22. “How many shutouts on average happen a year? It’s got to be like one or two, maybe. I feel like I’ve seen a handful already this year. I don’t think this is normal. I feel terrible for the Raiders

“I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a team have 30 first downs in a game. I mean, that’s in in itself [and] held the Raiders to under 100 yards total. I mean, I’ve had some really bad offensive games. It is miserable to be a part of those. This is right up there with them.”

Moreover, the Chiefs’ tight end shared his honest thoughts on Kansas City’s performance as he was surprised by how effective they were against the Silver and Black in Week 7.

“It was tough,” the younger Kelce added. “There are some mind-blowing stats, like we had as many first downs as they had offensive plays. Yeah. It’s crazy to think about what really went on, um, this past Sunday () They weren’t getting much going on offense, and we were putting together 17- and 18-play drives that, yep, scored in touchdowns, and it felt like the first half went by like this.

“We had three drives that were all really long drive drills almost. I’ll say this, man. I respect so many people over there. There’s coaches, players. There are so many guys. Obviously, they didn’t have Brock Bowers. They didn’t have Maxx [Crosby] for the majority of the game. He got banged up, and hopefully he’s all right, man. But it felt good to be firing on all cylinders, offense, defense, special teams.”

Raiders Will Look to Improve After Tough Performance

After a tough outing against the Chiefs, Jeanty spoke to the media and shared his candid thoughts on Las Vegas’ performance.

“Just a terrible performance by us as a team,” Jeanty said postgame. “Couldn’t stop them on defense and offense. We couldn’t get going at all. So, you’re going to lose a lot of football games like that…

“We just got to be better. I mean, simple as that. We got to go back, watch the film, can’t point the finger, can’t point a finger at coaches for the scheme or another player for making a mistake. We got to look inward and see how each and every single one of us can get better to make sure that never happens again.”
