Jurgen Klopp has spoken to Mohamed Salah after the two were involved in an tense touchline spat during Liverpool’s draw with West Ham United.

Salah was dropped to the bench for Saturday’s game at the London Stadium and was summoned from the substitutes bench with 11 minutes of the match remaining moments after Michael Antonio’s equaliser.

But as he waited on the touchline, the Egypt international was seen arguing with his manager.

Salah was seen throwing his arms in the air during the row with Darwin Nunez and Joe Gomez eventually intervening, pushing him away from the Liverpool manager.

Asked about the incident post-match, Klopp said he and Salah had discussed it in the dressing room, suggesting the matter is now closed.

‘No, but we spoke already in the dressing room and for me it’s done for me. That’s all and that is it.’ Asked if Salah was okay with the situation, Klopp added: That was my impression, yes.’

Former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch was not impressed with the incident, believing Salah was still furious with being left out of the starting XI when the change was being made.

‘It didn’t look good. It doesn’t look good for club,’ Crouch told TNT Sport.

‘Mohamed Salah is a player who starts the majority of games for Liverpool and he will be fuming to be on the bench. Players like that who expect to start will never be happy but no one likes to see that.’

Ally McCoist meanwhile added: ‘It’s not good at all, especially when you see Salah coming back to have another bite and one of his teammates has to intervene.

‘We have been in dressing rooms when that happens but it does not look good. That stuff should be behind closed doors.’

Following their midweek defeat to Everton, Saturday’s draw leaves Liverpool third in the table, two points behind leaders Arsenal who can move five clear with a win over Tottenham on Sunday.

Manchester City meanwhile are a point off the top with two games in hand.
