NBA star Kevin Durant is back doing what he loves: trolling fans on social media.
Durant took to his personal X (formerly Twitter) account in recent days to quibble with critics about a variety of topics, including where he ranked among the Golden State Warriorsâ best players during the franchiseâs dynasty years.
When a commenter tried to downplay his accomplishments, Durant claimed that some Warriors fans are âscarredâ by the fact he won back-to-back NBA Finals MVP awards in 2017 and 2018 over the likes of Stephen Curry.
âThem finals mvps I won hurt you,â Durant, also known as @KDTrey5, wrote. âScarred alot of warrior fans when my name was announced.â
After another poster asked âY do warriors fans hate KD,â Durant fired back once more.
âThem finals mvps, they will never recover,â he wrote.

The 36-year-old Durant, who was traded to the Houston Rockets as part of an historic seven-team deal in July, will be on the opposite side of the court when the Oklahoma City Thunder receive their NBA championship rings on Opening Night.
Durant spent his first nine NBA seasons with the Seattle/Oklahoma City franchise prior to signing with Golden State in the summer of 2016. The superstarâs decision to leave for the leagueâs latest superteam rankled many fans, who claimed that he was chasing a title.
On Saturday, a Thunder fan reminded Durant of his highly publicized departure and asked what he will be thinking when he returns to Oklahoma City in October.
Durant responded by taking a playful dig of the organization, which won its first title since relocating from Seattle in 2008.
âFinally,â Durant tweeted. âItâs been 10 years, bout time they win one lmaooo.â
The Thunder outlasted the Indiana Pacers in a thrilling seven-game series in June, with guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leading the way.

After spending parts of three seasons with the Phoenix Suns, Durant is joining a resurgent Rockets squad coming off a 52-win campaign. As part of one of the leagueâs newest Big Threes with Alperen Sengun and Amen Thompson, the 15-time All-Star and future Hall of Famer will be expected to provide immediate high-level scoring.
Durant, who averaged 26.6 points on 52.7% shooting last season, is entering the final year of a four-year, $194 million deal he signed with the Brooklyn Nets in 2021. If they choose, the Rockets can offer him a two-year, $122.1 million max extension.
