London Marathon 2024 updates — Start time and route revealed as 50,000 runners to take streets of British Capital

THIS year’s London Marathon will take place on Sunday, 21 April, with 50,000 runners set to take part.

Exact race times have not yet been announced but in previous years the elite and wheelchair races have set off at staggered start times from around 8.30am BST.

Runners in the mass participation race – which includes members of the public and celebrities – typically set off at 9.30am BST.

The London Marathon route will be the same as in recent years, starting at Blackheath and ending at The Mall.

The iconic London route showcases some of the capital’s most popular areas including Big Ben, Tower Bridge and Buckingham Palace.
