Meanwhile, Ten Hag has come under pressure during an underwhelming second season at Old Trafford.
According to Christian Falk, the two coaches could swap clubs, with United football chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe having a lot of respect for Tuchel.
The former Chelsea boss is a top target for United as they look for potential replacements for Ten Hag if he is sacked.
In addition, the German is said to want a return to the Premier League, with the United job of interest to him.
He is not prepared to enter talks about a new role until his current club’s Champions League campaign is over, though.
The report also adds that Ten Hag has been discussed by Bayern, who are yet to appoint Tuchel’s successor.
He confirmed his departure in February, just 11 months after arriving at the club.
Having won an 11th consecutive Bundesliga title last term, Bayern have been ousted by Bayer Leverkusen this season.

However, they remain in the Champions League and drew with Real Madrid in their semi-final first leg this week.
Tuchel previously managed in England with Chelsea between 2021 and 2022, winning both the Champions League and Club World Cup.
Ten Hag has struggled in his second season with United, having been dumped out of Europe before Christmas.
The Red Devils are also unable to secure a top four finish and currently sit in sixth place in the Premier League.
Despite reaching another FA Cup final, SunSport revealed last month that Ten Hag is set to be sacked this summer after losing the support of the fans.
He currently has a year remaining on his deal and won the Carabao Cup during his maiden campaign in England.
