Michael Carrick has told four Manchester United players that they will feature sparingly this season and can leave the club this summer, according to reports.
Carrick is seeking to rebuild his squad as he prepares for his first full season in charge of the Red Devils.
United have made it a priority to bolster their midfield options after the departure of Casemiro, with Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans arriving from Chelsea and Aston Villa, respectively.
And elsewhere, Karl Darlow has arrived from Leeds United to serve as a back-up to Senne Lammens following his impressive debut season at Old Trafford.

United are still keen to make further additions, particularly in midfield, with Manu Kone and Carlos Baleba among the names under consideration.
But the club are also seeking to offload some squad players, with the Daily Mail reporting that four youngsters have been told they will be surplus to requirements ahead of the new season.
Harry Amass spent last season on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and then Norwich, but will be allowed to leave despite impressing in pre-season friendlies against Wrexham and Rosenborg.
Midfielders Dan Gore and Toby Collyer also both spent last season away from the club, but have been told that first-team minutes will be hard to come by under Carrick this upcoming season.
Gore spent last season on loan at Rotherham, while Collyer could return to Hull City following their promotion to the English top-flight.
Elsewhere, goalkeeper Radek Vitek appears poised to leave the club after an impressive loan spell at Bristol City last year.
The 22-year-old is also keen for a move away to continue his development, telling reporters after United’s defeat to Wrexham: ‘I feel great and ready to go again somewhere to hopefully be No1.
‘I hope there will be some interest. I think you will know when the things are more concrete.
‘There’s been a few interests on the table, but we’re hoping to get the best one and hopefully it will happen soon. I want to play every week and that’s the goal for next season.
‘Hopefully I find out soon where that’s going to be.’
Elsewhere, United are also ready to sanction the departure of several senior players as they look to raise funds for further incomings.
United are open to offers for Joshua Zirkzee, who is attracting interest from Juventus, while Marcus Rashford faces an uncertain future after his return from a loan at Barcelona.
Speaking on social media on Thursday to confirm his departure from Barca, the Englishman said: ‘Extremely grateful to everyone at the club for turning my time here into such a positive and unforgettable experience.
‘I’ve loved every moment and will carry those special memories with me. Wishing the club and all the fans the very best of luck and massive success this season. Visca el Barca!’
