The Seattle Seahawks got a dominant win over the Patriots in Super Bowl LX. After battling the Rams for NFC supremacy all season long, the Seahawks got the last laugh with a narrow win in the NFC Championship Game in Seattle before going on to win it all with a 29-13 victory in a Super Bowl that was never in doubt.
For Seahawks fans, the win was monumental and something they won’t soon forget. It had been over a decade since Seattle played for a Super Bowl, and the Seahawks team that won it was built on a strong, youthful foundation. Seattle HC Mike Macdonald is one of the youngest head coaches in the NFL, and the stars on both sides of the ball that carried the Seahawks to a win are young players, most of whom are still on their rookie contracts.
This Seahawks team isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. But one key figure in Seattle hadn’t yet revisited that glorious day.
Seahawks HC Mike Macdonald Admits He Only Just Watched the Super Bowl Film

Appearing on the Up & Adams podcast with Kay Adams on Monday, Macdonald made a surprising admission about the Seahawks’ Super Bowl win.
“Well, full disclosure,” Macdonald said. “I’ve only watched [the Seahawks’ Super Bowl film] once. Like five days ago. It took me that long to watch the tape, yeah. Because I’m weird, and I love the idea of how we played from first-person watching the game, but when I watch it from the coach’s perspective — like I never really put my coach’s hat on. I critique it probably too hard, I’m actually thinking of the plays we maybe could’ve played better, you know, the plays we want to get better at.”
“Well, we could’ve taken the back to the flat a couple of times, and the [Patriots’] two touchdown passes were kind of a bummer,” he added when asked what Seattle could’ve done better in such a dominant win.
“Honestly, I was tired of watching college players [in preparation for the draft],” Macdonald said with a chuckle. “And I thought, maybe I’ll just watch this, maybe it’s time to watch the Super Bowl.”
Coaches usually pour over game film, even in big wins like the Seahawks had, even in the final game of the season. It’s just how it works when you’re in this business — every detail needs to be accounted for, and you can learn something on every play.
Clearly, though, Macdonald was enjoying his team’s win in memory, and is ready to turn the page to the 2026 season.
Could the Seattle Seahawks Look to Add an Edge Rusher in the First Round of the Draft?
Typically, the Seahawks are expected to prioritize cornerback early in the upcoming NFL draft. But they could look to add some youth and athleticism to their defensive line, especially on the edge. It’s a deep, exciting group of edge defenders in this class, and the Seahawks should have a wide array of choices to make even at their pick at No. 32.
Central Florida’s Malachi Lawrence immediately comes to mind as a long, freakishly athletic, powerful edge rusher. Other options in that range include Illinois’ Gabe Jacas, Texas A&M’s Cashius Howell, and Tennessee’s Joshua Josephs.
