NBA MVP Odds 2026: Updated Race Between Luka Doncic, Wembanyama, SGA

The 2025-26 NBA MVP race looked like a two-man competition for much of the year between Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Nikola Jokic, the top two finishers for last year’s award. However, in the final few months of the regular season, the NBA MVP odds have shifted drastically, with Victor Wembanyama and Luka Doncic now in the race, each with a strong case to take home the award.

In the final two weeks of the regular season, Gilgeous-Alexander, Wembanyama, and Doncic all have the best odds to win the 2026 NBA MVP. While the Oklahoma City Thunder star was previously a heavy favorite, the race could come down to the final few games of the season, and what each star can do to cement their argument for the league’s top regular-season award.

According to most major sportsbooks and prediction markets, in the order of Gilgeous-Alexander, Wembanyama, and Doncic, each has the best odds to win the MVP award in the 2025-26 NBA season.

Here’s the odds for each, along with their stats this season and a case for why they deserve the MVP.

NBA MVP Race 2026: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Oklahoma City Thunder

GettyHOUSTON, TEXAS – JANUARY 15: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander #2 of the Oklahoma City Thunder reacts during the game against the Houston Rockets at Toyota Center on January 15, 2026 in Houston, Texas.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander MVP Odds: -275 to -320.

Gilgeous-Alexander is averaging 31.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 1.4 steals on 55.1/37.9/88.2 shooting splits in 63 games while the Thunder are 59-16.

He’s the best player on the best team, simple as that. Oklahoma City has had the best record in the NBA all season, and Gilgeous-Alexander is one of the most efficient scorers in recent NBA memory. He carries a massive responsibility for the defending champions on offense and has been the main reason for their success this year. He’s been the favorite for most of the season and is in line to win the MVP for the second year in a row.

If he were to win two straight MVP awards, Gilgeous-Alexander would join elite NBA company and cement his legacy as one of the best guards in the history of the league.

NBA MVP Race 2026: Victor Wembanyama, San Antonio Spurs

Victor Wembanyama MVP odds 2026

GettySAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – MARCH 19: Victor Wembanyama #1 of the San Antonio Spurs is surrounded by teammates after he scored the game-winning basket against the Phoenix Suns at Frost Bank Center on March 19, 2026 in San Antonio, Texas.

Victor Wembanyama MVP Odds: +210 to +270.

Wembanyama is averaging 24.2 points, 11.3 rebounds, three assists, and 3.1 blocks on 50.1/34.8/82 shooting splits while the Spurs are 56-18 and second in the West.

The French center is an interesting case, as while he’s made a recent push for himself to win the MVP over the past few weeks, his odds for the award have only increased. He’s arguably the most impactful player on both sides of the court, as, while a shoo-in for the Defensive Player of the Year award, his play is creating a strong argument for the MVP award itself.

Simply put, he’s the best defensive player in the league and is quickly turning into one of the best offensive players in the league. The scoring might not line up with the rest of the candidates, but in his first mostly-healthy NBA season, he is proving that defense is half the game, and while some voters might not see that, it’s not like he’s outputting bad numbers on offense.

Wembanyama’s MVP odds have been surging over the past few weeks, and he was recently named atop the MVP ladder on NBA.com. He is currently the top favorite to overthrow Gilgeous-Alexander for the award this season.

NBA MVP Race 2026: Luka Doncic, Los Angeles Lakers

Luka Doncic MVP odds 2026

GettyHOUSTON, TEXAS – MARCH 18: Luka Doncic #77 of the Los Angeles Lakers reacts against the Houston Rockets during the second half at Toyota Center on March 18, 2026 in Houston, Texas.

Luka Doncic MVP Odds: +1500 to +2700.

Doncic is averaging 33.7 points, 7.8 rebounds, 8.2 assists, and 1.6 steals on 47.6/36.6/77.6 shooting splits while the Lakers are third in the West with a 48-26 record.

Doncic’s MVP odds this season have been fluctuating heavily. He was a favorite before the season, but then dropped down through the middle part of the year. However, with his historic scoring run while the Lakers have quickly turned into one of the hottest teams in the NBA, his MVP odds have shot back up.

Doncic is putting up 40 points basically every other night, while leading Los Angeles to a 13-2 record in March. His statistical output on offense is near the top of the league, only behind Jokic. Doncic leads the league in scoring, and while the Lakers do also have LeBron James and Austin Reaves, their recent rise up the standings has been mainly due to the Slovenian playing arguably the best basketball of his career.

Interestingly enough, Doncic’s odds have dropped over the past week despite his statistical output staying the same. While he was previously second behind SGA, he is now third in MVP odds behind the Thunder and Spurs’ stars.

NBA MVP Odds Roundup And Prediction

Along with those three, Jokic, Jaylen Brown, and previously Cade Cunningham have all been near the top of the MVP race this season. However, the three previously mentioned names are the favorites right now, and odds point to one of them winning the award this season.

However, at this point, with each team having fewer than ten games to go before the playoffs begin, Gilgeous-Alexander looks like he’ll win a second-straight MVP.

Despite the strong runs from both Doncic and Wembanyama, the Thunder superstar has been on a historic stretch over the past two years, and with how consistent he’s been all season, one of those two topping him feels like a task too tall to manage.

However, the 2026 NBA MVP race is not yet over, and if one of the other two candidates can put together some incredible stat lines to close out the year, their odds could surge in the final few weeks of the regular season to take home the award over the current favorite.
