Stephen Curry has a goal of making his return for the Golden State Warriors in the team’s Sunday game against the Houston Rockets.
Based on previous updates after practicing with the team, the Warriors’ game against the Rockets was expected to be Curry’s targeted injury return, but now, as reported by Shams Charania of ESPN, it’s official that the franchise star is set to get back on the court then.
Curry has missed more than two months with a knee injury for Golden State. He’s been out for the last 25 games, and likely at least two more before making his injury return against Houston on Sunday.
After Charania reported the news, the NBA world had strong reactions to the announcement.

Speaking on NBA Today, Charania reported that Curry has a goal of coming back on Sunday. He posted that news on X, and in the replies, fans made their feelings clear on the league’s all-time three-point leader expecting to make his return over the weekend.

“Sunday vs Houston with Curry back just feels like a must-watch game,” ClutchMoments | NBA News wrote.

As seen in the responses, Curry fans and detesters were questioning everything from whether the star coming back was an April Fools joke, if it was the right move, and if the Warriors can make waves in the postseason.
However, the early overall sentiment was that Curry getting back on the court is good for the NBA, as without one of the most popular players in the league for a prolonged stretch, returning to action only makes Golden State a more worthwhile watch in the final few games of the regular season.
