Nick Sirianni Reveals Blunt Message to Eagles’ A.J. Brown

On any given week, any player on the Philadelphia Eagles offense can beat a team. That was evident on Sunday, coming back with a massive 33-26 win against the Los Angeles Rams. There were points throughout the game when the Eagles’ offense didn’t look great, and many thought they were done.

However, Jalen Hurts showed why he’s one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL, throwing for 226 yards and three massive touchdowns.

Hurts has been as good as he possibly can be over much of the past few years, but many still question whether he’s much of a passer. Regardless of how anybody wants to label him, he’s elite, and he proved that once again on Sunday.

He didn’t have to, given he’s already won a Super Bowl and has accomplished plenty of other things in his career, but the questions are still loud on the former Oklahoma standout.

A.J. Brown Exploded Against Rams

Regardless of how people feel about Hurts, the Philadelphia Eagles have done what they’ve needed to do, and star wide receiver A.J. Brown is a big part of the reason why on the offensive side of the football.

Brown had some quiet games throughout the first two weeks of the season, finishing with five receptions for 27 yards in Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs and one reception for eight yards against the Dallas Cowboys. Fast forward to Week 3 against the Los Angeles Rams, and he finished with six receptions for 109 yards and one touchdown.

For head coach Nick Sirianni, that’s exactly what he thinks his star wide receiver should be doing every week.

“I think one thing is that you don’t have to live your life as a football team, the way people think you should respond,” Sirianni said, per SI.

“I watched A.J. Brown handle all your questions as a great teammate and with grace. Obviously, he wants the football. Obviously, he needs to get the football. To do the things that we want to do, he’s got to have the season that he’s had the last couple years, the last three years when he has been second-team All-Pro and went over a thousand yards every time. That’s the nature of the position.”

A.J. Brown Praised by Eagles’ Nick Sirianni

While Brown is expected to do big things for the Philadelphia Eagles, Sirianni stated that he was proud of him for one primary reason. Instead of Brown pouting on the sideline or requesting a trade, he handled the slow start as well as he could, proving to the Eagles and the fan base that he’s still that guy and will continue to be moving forward.

“I’m just really proud of how he’s handled a slow start as far as stat-wise, but he’s doing the right things without it in his hands to help us find ways to win football games, and today we needed it with the ball in his hands. I just really think he handled it the way we want to handle things as a football team. It’s not about individuals, it’s all over the place, right? ‘Well, you’re not getting yours.’ Well, we’re a team. We find ways to win. ‘Well, aren’t you frustrated?’ Yeah, obviously he wants the ball, but going back to work every single day knowing that it’s going to happen, and what a great example to kids all over the place.”
