The Los Angeles Rams public relations team had to follow up their in-game notice about veteran offseason addition and inside linebacker Nate Landman afterward, with the former Atlanta Falcons starter making franchise and, by extension, NFL history.
Facing a depleted Ravens team, the Rams’ defense kept them in the game until their offense could capitalize.
Landman led the way with a performance for the ages.

“ILB Nate Landman set a career-high for tackles in a first half (8) against the Ravens,” Los Angeles Rams PR posted on X on October 12.
After the game and another forced fumble, Landman warranted a longer post.
“Landman set the franchise record for the most tackles in a single game in franchise history (17),” the PR team posted. “Since 1994, only four other Rams have recorded 16 or more tackles in a single game: James Laurinaitis (2009 vs. Cardinals), Alec Ogletree (2015 vs. Commanders), Mark Barron (2015 vs. Browns), and Keith Lyle (1995 vs. Saints).”
“Nate Landman is a certified DAWG,” the Rams posted.
Landman’s historic showing was a fitting way to follow up a recent review that already deemed him a player on the rise.
Nate Landman Delivers on ‘Breakout’ Label

Bleacher Report’s Brad Gagnon selected Landman as the Rams’ “biggest breakout player” after five weeks of the season.
“Landman has become the heart and soul of the Rams defense, pretty much overnight,” Bleacher Report’s Brad Gagnon wrote on October 8. “The former Falcon has already recovered two fumbles while posting the third-best tackling PFF grade among qualified off-ball linebackers.”
He helped seal the Rams’ win over the Houston Texans in the regular-season opener.
“Oh man, I’ve seen it all training camp. All he does is just freaking punch it out. So, I was so happy for him,” Rams QB Matthew Stafford told CBS Sports’ Melanie Collins in September. “He called his shot on Friday in the team meeting and said, ‘I’m gonna get one out.’ And shoot, we needed it when he did it, and hell of a play. He’s a great guy, a great teammate. He just jumped in, immersed himself into this team. He’s a leader. We’re happy to have him.”
Those sentiments continued after the win in Week 6.
Rams Praised Over Nate Landman Signing

Landman, who signed a one-year, $1.1 million contract with the Rams, continues to pay off at a position LA has traditionally chosen to fill with bargain options.
“Nate Landman has been such a key addition for the Rams,” “That Franchise Guy” host Marcus Whitman posted on X after the game. “Great pro scouting by Les Snead and Co., was always super underrated for the Falcons.”
If he continues with his strong play, Landman could earn a significant payday next offseason.
Before joining the Rams, Landman spent three seasons with the Falcons, who he signed with as an undrafted free agent in 2022.
He started 14 of 16 games played with the Falcons in 2023, and nine of 13 in 2024. This season, Landman is proving himself worthy while starting all six of the games that the Rams have played so far this season.
