Ravens Get Bad News on Injury-Riddled 2nd-Year Linebacker

The Baltimore Ravens have high hopes for the 2025 campaign, as the team believes this is the year they can finally get over the hump and win a Super Bowl. However, they have to make it to the regular season first, and they continue to suffer injuries before they even take the field for their first matchup of the year.

The latest injury the team suffered involved second-year linebacker Adisa Isaac. After laboring through an injury-plagued rookie season, the hope was that Isaac could emerge as a contributor in 2025. Those plans have been put on hold for the time being, though, as Isaac was recently dealt a tough injury update.

Adisa Isaac Set to Miss Time with Elbow Injury

The Ravens selected Isaac in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft to come in and add another versatile pass rusher to their defense. In his final collegiate season with the Penn State Nittany Lions, Isaac racked up 37 tackles and 7.5 sacks, showcasing an ability to make an impact against both the run and the pass.

Things didn’t go as expected for Isaac as a rookie, though. He opened training camp last year on the Non-Football Injury and Illness List, which seemed to set him back from the get-go. Ultimately, he suited up in four games, racking up just four tackles and one pass deflection during his limited time on the field.

With a full offseason of preparation under his belt, Isaac was looking to take a step forward for the Ravens in 2025. However, he ended up suffering a dislocated elbow in their second preseason contest against the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday, which will force him to miss a few weeks as he works on getting himself back to full health.

“Ravens outside linebacker Adisa Isaac suffered a dislocated elbow in the Ravens’ 31-13 preseason win in Dallas Saturday night,” Ryan Mink wrote for BaltimoreRavens.com. “It’s a tough injury for the second-year player who missed most of his rookie season due to multiple injuries. Isaac has made strides this summer and looked like a player who could make a defensive impact.”

Ravens Forced to Move Forward Without Adisa Isaac

Isaac could have earned a role in the Ravens’ front seven rotation, but now, they will have to find a way to replace his potential production to start the season. It’s a tough blow, as Isaac was enjoying a strong training camp and appeared to be set to make a contribution for Baltimore after struggling to find his footing last season.

Once he gets healthy, Isaac will look to get back on the right track, but it remains to be seen if there will be a role for him on the team. For now, he will work on getting himself back on the field, but it’s fair to wonder whether this injury will end up having an impact on how Isaac’s future with Baltimore unfolds.
