Ravens QB Lamar Jackson Turns Heads With Response to Critic

For almost the entirety of his NFL career, the criticism around Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson have been almost solely focused on his inability to win a Super Bowl.

Now, Jackson is dealing with a different kind of criticism and it’s not sitting as well.

Now, Jackson isn’t dealing with critics of his inability to win the big game. He’s dealing with critics who are questioning his ability in general.

That criticism seemed to reach its peak after a 32-14 blowout loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 13 after Jackson turned the ball over 3 times — 2 fumbles and 1 interception — and didn’t throw for a touchdown or run for at touchdown.

Pittsburgh sports radio 93.7-FM The Fan’s Andrew Filliponi went on X to call out the 2-time NFL Most Valuable Player.

“Can we all agree that Lamar Jackson is at the very least a little overrated?” Filliponi wrote on Thursday, November 27.

Jackson took notice.

“Say less,” Jackson wrote in response to Filliponi on his official X account, along with a crying laughing emoji.

“Crazy how Lamar Jackson tweeting one word gives me full hope that we’re making a playoff run,” The Ravens Realm wrote on its official X account on November 28.

Jackson Hasn’t Seemed 100 Percent This Season

Jackson missed 3 games earlier this season with a hamstring injury as the Ravens stumbled to a 1-5 start, but is 4-1 since his return.

Even in those wins, Jackson hasn’t looked like the player who set NFL single season and career quarterback rushing records. To his credit, Jackson hasn’t used being injured as an excuse.

“Lamar Jackson said injuries aren’t holding him back,” ESPN’s Jamison Hensley wrote on X. “He chalks the offensive struggles to lack of execution.”

Filliponi wasn’t the only one coming for Jackson’s head this week.

“Lamar Jackson doesn’t throw a lot of interceptions but he does fumble the ball at a very high rate,” Footballholics wrote on its official X account.

“I think it’s time we have that conversation about Lamar Jackson,” self described “Sports Meme God” Mike Cima wrote on his official X account.

“Lamar Jackson really is NFL James Harden,” The Gambling Podcast’s Scott Reichel wrote on X. “People can deny it all they want but the comparison is definitely there.”

“Here is what I think the problem is with Lamar Jackson, and there is history to back this up,” NFL content creator Matt King wrote on his official X account. “When things don’t start going his way in a game he loses confidence, and the production drops.”

Not Everyone Thinks Lamar Jackson Sucks

Even if they’ve seen their numbers dwindle considerably this season, Jackson still has his defenders.

“STILL one of the most elite QBs to ever play,” Da Kid Gowie wrote on his official X account. “STILL a top QB in the league currently. STILL the piece that drives the Ravens. Lamar Jackson‘s struggling right now, even when acknowledging the things beyond his control, but I’m not concerned. He’ll shake back.”

Lamar‘s great,” Ravens tight end Mark Andrews said. “I got no complaints, man. He’s our guy. Full trust. … I’m certainly thankful for him.”
