Roy Keane has revealed a new stance on the possibility of appearing on ITV reality television show I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

The British programme, which sees a number of celebrities living in the Australian jungle and going through various challenges, has been running since 2002, attracting on average over 9 million viewers every year.

A number of ex-footballers and pundits have entered the jungle over the years, including Arsenal legend Ian Wright on Series 19 in 2019.

But former Manchester United midfielder Keane, who does punditry work for Sky Sports and ITV, has no desire to join Ant and Dec out in Australia.

He does, however, now admit that everyone has a price, and hinted that he would be tempted to go on the show if the right offer came in from ITV.

On the latest episode of Stick to Football, brought to you by Sky Bet, Keane was quizzed about his chances of going on I’m a Celebrity and said: ‘Yes [I had an offer to appear on the show], but it’s not my scene.’

Pressed further by fellow pundit Jamie Carragher on whether he has a price that may alter that stance, though, Keane added: ‘Of course!

‘I think everyone has been asked to go in [to the jungle], that’s no big drama being asked, I don’t get a buzz out of that.

‘I don’t think it’s for me. Listen, I’d like to think that I’m open to new adventures but the jungle…’

Keane has previously admitted to being in talks with ITV producers over appearing on I’m a Celeb.

Ten years ago, Keane told Shortlist magazine: ‘I’ve had the Celebrity Big Brother offers and the jungle stuff, I met the jungle people, but I thought [it wasn’t] for me.

‘But the more you say no, the more determined they are to get you, so who knows? There’s more to life than football.’

Ant McPartlin confirmed two years ago that Keane had been approached over I’m a Celeb and said: ‘[He] would be very good.

‘We’ve asked him on a few occasions. He’s been close, he has been close to saying yes so come on Roy Keane. Do it for the lads, son!’
