The Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys are going up against each other for a high-profile Thanksgiving game on Thursday, November 27. The Chiefs have a 6-5 record going into the showdown, while the Cowboys are 5-5-1 and hot off a win over the Philadelphia Eagles. This game is so anticipated that it’s expected to draw record viewership.
So, all eyes are on these two teams. Even though the Chiefs would rather have a better record than 6-5 at this point in the season, it sure makes for some exciting football, because every single game really matters. This Thanksgiving will be like no other for Kansas City.
So, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, tight end Travis Kelce and the rest of the Kansas City crew is on the road in Dallas for the holiday. But, Kelce’s soon-to-be wife Taylor Swift is also making waves. She likely won’t be at the game, because she rarely attends away games, but she’s still making news of her own.
News on Taylor Swift Before the Kansas City Chiefs Thanksgiving Game
Swift released her 12th album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” on October 3, and she’s been all over the airwaves and streaming services ever since. “Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ combines new, exciting sonic turns with incisive storytelling,” Maya Georgi of Rolling Stone says in a review of the album. “On her 12th studio album, Swift hits all her marks — from new, exciting sonic turns to incisive storytelling.” So, she’s been getting rave reviews, and that shows no sign of slowing down even months after the album is out.
Now, Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia,” which is sitting at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, just got a special remix. The Hot 100, by the way, includes all genres streaming in the U.S., both official audio and official video, radio airplay and sales data.
But, now, Swift has teamed up with The Chainsmokers to release a remix of “The Fate of Ophelia” to the delight of club DJs everywhere. The “Fate of Ophelia (The Chainsmokers Remix)” is now available to download on iTunes and Amazon Music via Swift’s online store. The new track has a fresh EDM vibe and beat. In the comments, the Chainsmokers said that it was truly and honor to work with Swift.
The original “The Fate of Ophelia” just reached its seventh week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Also, Swift’s album is still topping the Billboard 200.
More Success for Taylor Swift
“The Life of a Showgirl” is having a stellar showing. Upon the album’s release, Billboard reported the official earnings for the first week of album, which are different from the number of album units sold, were “estimated to have raked in $135 million in one week from her new album. And even that number is surely too low,” according to Billboard’s Ed Christman.
That $135 million figure game from the album’s huge first-week haul, debuting with 4.002 million equivalent album units, according to Luminate, making it the “only album to pass 4 million in the modern era, and accounted for 50.01% of all current albums in the U.S. that week — but also to an overdrive marketing campaign launched by the Swift camp and her record label, Republic,” Christman stated at the time. So, there’s truly no stopping Swift and her music.
