It’s been a difficult week for Travis Kelce and Kansas City Chiefs, since the Chiefs were officially eliminated from the playoffs on December 14, but there’s life outside of football, and that’s where Taylor Swift comes in. While it’s disappointing that Kelce and the Chiefs won’t be in the postseason, and even more upsetting that Patrick Mahomes suffered a season-ending ACL and LCL injury in the team’s weekend game against the Los Angeles Chargers, Swift and Kelce do have a life outside of the NFL.
Swift and Kelce, of course, are planning a wedding together. Swift is also still working her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” which arrived on October 3. The album marks a new era of Swift, with the singer saying on Kelce and his brother Jason’s “New Heights” podcast in August, “Basically the reason why I chose to exit that way was because I kind of wanted to give a little subliminal hint to the fans that I may be leaving the Eras Tour era, but I was also entering a new era.”
Now, Swift’s docuseries about the Eras Tour has debuted on Disney+, dubbed “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The End of an Era,” and she just made a big change that relates to the special. Call it an early Christmas gift to Swift listeners.
Taylor Swift Changes Release Date Following Travis Kelce and Kansas City Chiefs Elimination
“Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The End of an Era” gives an inside look at not only Swift on her Eras Tour but also on her relationship with Kelce. Now, on Thursday morning, December 18, Swift announced that the remaining episode release dates of her six-part documentary series have changed.
Episodes three and four are set to reach on Disney+ on Friday, December 19, as expected, but now, the last two episodes will air on December 23, rather than on December 26, as previously announced.
“As an early gift to fans around the world, the final two episodes will premiere early on December 23 at 12am PT,” Disney+ announced on its social media pages.
The series, which follows Swift’s successful Eras Tour, premiered the first two episodes on December 12, a day before Swift’s birthday.
“The directors [Don Argott and Sheena M. Joyce] expanded upon the stories of not just me, but everyone who was part of this,” Swift said at a screening earlier this month. “There was a lot of magic and mystery that happens when something goes as well as this (tour) did.”
Taylor Swift First Shared the News of Her New Album on Travis Kelce’s Podcast
Swift first talked about her new album during an appearance on Kelce’s “New Heights” show in August. It makes sense that she would go on her soon-to-be husband’s podcast to break the news.
“I wanted melodies that were so infectious that you were almost angry at it and lyrics that are just as vivid, but crisp and focused and completely intentional,” she said of the album on the “New Heights” podcast.
“I wanted to do it at the highest intensity and rapid fire,” she added about her Eras Tour at the time. “When I heard reports of people saying that they got actual amnesia after the concerts, I was like, ‘I think we did it. We nailed it.’”
