The star, who was born in New York but represents Spain, has suffered a number of injury setbacks over recent times that have left question marks over her career.

Tsitsipas did climb to number three in the world rankings and has finished runner-up at two major tournaments – losing both times to the legendary Novak Djokovic.

It is unclear when he and Paula actually started their romance.

However, they first went public last year and he did not hold back any feelings when discussing it with Eurosport.

He said: “I feel happy and content.

“I haven’t really felt that type of connection with anyone before.

“I don’t mean to sound cringe or anything because that’s the reality and that’s what I am faced with.”
