Cooper Kupp finally recorded his first touchdown in a Seattle Seahawks uniform, his home state team.
The milestone came in the third-quarter of Sunday’s matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Seahawks would ride Kupp’s touchdown to the finish line, escaping Florida with a 20-12 victory over the Jaguars.
“Really happy for Coop,” Seattle head coach Mike Macdonald said postgame This guy is a force multiplier. It was really important to bring him here. He’s one of the biggest why are team is at where they’re at right now. And for him to have the productivity behind it too is just icing on the cake. He’s playing great football for us.”

Washington Native Makes History For Seahawks
According to Kole Musgrove with Seahawks Wire, Kupp’s touchdown vaulted him into an elite group: he is now just the seventh player ever to score a touchdown at a Washington high school, a Washington college, and as a Seahawk.
Cooper Kupp got his start at A.C. Davis High School in Yakima, where he tallied 22 total touchdowns, 18 of them receiving. He went on to cement his status as a Washington legend at Eastern Washington University, becoming the FCS all-time leader in receiving touchdowns with 73 during his time as an Eagle.
Now back in his home state, Kupp is making his mark in his first season as a Seahawk, further solidifying his place among the Evergreen State’s local legends by adding his name to this exclusive list.

Seattle Defense Stepped Up and Offense Protected the Ball
Quarterback Sam Darnold threw for 295 yards, finding the end zone with passes to Kupp and Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who hauled in eight catches for 162 yards.
The Seahawks put the game out of reach in the fourth quarter, forcing three punts before Darnold launched a 61-yard strike to tight end AJ Barner, setting up a clock-running drive after another Jacksonville penalty.
“I told myself I was going to take what they give me, and if they give me a checkdown, take it,” Darnold said. “I felt like I did a pretty good job of that.”
Darnold also protected the football as the Jaguars nailed to record a takeaway. They entered the game leading the league with 14.
“That was critical,” Macdonald said. “We knew they would do that going into the game. They’re an opportunistic team. The numbers speak for themselves. I thought our ball security was tremendous.”
