The 17-year-old was hoping to become the first player to claim five consecutive nightly wins in a single season since the new format was introduced three years ago.

Ahead of his quarter-final with Peter Wright, Sky Sports host Emma Paton was asking pundits Mardle and ex-world champ Mark Webster for their predictions.

The latter stated: “I’m gonna go for Luke Littler to win again and get the record, so why not tonight?

“He’s been playing fantastic, he’s top of the table and deserves to be there.”

At that point, host Emma jumped in and said to Mardle: “Stop being so boring.”

That led to the legend jokingly blasting back: “Do you want us to select people we don’t think are gonna win?

“You asked for my opinion and you don’t like it. What are we going to do? What’s going on?”

Manchester United fan Littler, who was booed by the Leeds crowd, advanced into the semi-finals of Night 15 by beating Wright.

Luke Humphries also progressed after overcoming Rob Cross.

They took on Michael van Gerwen and Michael Smith for a spot in the final, but Littler was eliminated by Van Gerwen courtesy of a 6-1 loss.

Humphries then managed to see off Smith by the same score.

Now he is competing against Dutchman MVG in the final in front of his adoring home fans.

Meanwhile, Emma dazzled with her new look live on TV at the darts.

The 29-year-old is a regular on our TV screens as the face of darts for Sky Sports.

She recently stunned in a glamorous outfit at Premier League Darts in Rotterdam.

However, she raised eyebrows again this evening as she hosted the action for the broadcaster in Leeds.

But this time she had a new look to show off, and her admirers absolutely loved it.

Rather than having a centre-parting like recent weeks, the beauty decided this time to go for a side-parting with a fringe.

And she pulled off the slightly different look with ease as she accompanied it with a sleek black outfit.
