Rooney and Ronaldo were two pivotal players at United as they won three Premier League titles together, as well as the Champions League in 2008.
Hargreaves, meanwhile, was also a key part of the United squad that won the Premier League and Champions League double in 2008 and Rooney claims the former centre midfielder was deceptively fast.
‘We did tests over 30 yards I think it was, and I was top in that and Owen Hargreaves was second,’ Rooney said on the BBC’s The Wayne Rooney Show.
‘Owen was quicker than when people think. So yeah, I was, I was faster than that.

‘But there’s all different aspects in, in football. Cristiano obviously dribbling with the ball is really quick, Ryan Giggs dribbling with the ball. Some players seemed quicker with the ball and then without it as well.’

Asked to name his quickest opponents, Rooney replied: ‘Kyle Walker is rapid, Theo [Walcott] Gabby Agblonlahor was rapid, they’re the three I’d say who were the quickest.
‘Aaron Lennon was sharp, over five yards, he was so quick, so sharp.’
Rooney also believes that Ronaldo is intent on reaching 1000 goals during his career before retiring.
The 40-year-old is currently on 950 goals as he closes in on the milestone playing for Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr and Portugal’s national side.
‘One hundred per cent, he’s not retired before he’s scored one thousand,’ Rooney said.
‘It’d be great for him as well if he does that and I’m sure over the next couple of years he’ll be playing with his son alongside him, so I think that’s a big thing as well for him.’
